Market Access on a trade mission to Morocco

2018-11-27
Future of commercial relations between Morocco and Portugal is very promising.

Market Access in partnership with CTCP (Portuguese Footwear Technological Centre), has recently visited Morocco for the first commercial approach from Sóviras (largest national producer of welts for shoes). The purpose of this mission was to put them in contact with relevant local players. In addition to promoting business opportunities, these visits allow a more in-depth knowledge of the market.

The Moroccan economy emerges as a solid and promising platform for trade, partnership and share. Besides the geographical proximity (Lisbon is one hour away from Rabat and Casablanca), the political stability and the economic growth makes the Moroccan market quite attractive. There’s also a big complementarity: the Portuguese are excellent producers and the Moroccan are excellent traders. Morocco is currently Portugal’s 14th biggest customer with a quota of 1,01% (Jan/Mar 2018 – INE - Statistics Portugal).
