Vegetarian “feijoada” wins Ecotrophelia 2018

As partner of the competition, Market Access will provide consulting services to Bean Ready, the winning team.

The competition Ecotrophelia Portugal 2018, promoted by PortugalFoods in co-organization with FIPA, was held last week at the congress center Alfândega do Porto. The main objective was to stimulate eco-innovation in the agro-food sector.

Ten competing finalist teams from 14 higher education institutions, from north to south of the country, presented eco-innovative projects from different categories of food products. The products were evaluated by a national jury composed of several experts, including Rui Sousa, Market Access’s CEO.

The Bean Ready team, which presented a ready-to-eat vegetarian feijoada (a traditional Portuguese stew of beans), won the national eco-innovation food competition and will represent Portugal in the European competition for the Ecotrophelia prize at the SIAL Paris fair. As a partner entity, Market Access will provide consulting services to the winning team.
